This is a story of Pinky from a small village called Hajipur situated in the Sohna Block of Gurgaon. The left turn from the Sohna -Palwal road leads you to a dusty lane which enters the village of Hajipur. Once you are in the village and you ask for the lady Pinky, the faces turns serious and full of concern and exclaiming ,” Accha wahi Bechari Pinki !”. People expect that there are some opportunities which may come on Pinky’s way and lead her to more independent life. The road takes a left and then a right turn and reaches a small house with a very big open courtyard. One crosses the courtyard and reaches a small house where Pinki stays. Pinki greets you with a welcome smile. Her smile has hidden her million tears. Looking at her nobody can tell that she is a fighter and every minute she fights to keep her confidence upright and become a doting mother to her two grown up kids. Yes Pinki has lost her both legs. It was one evening when she was returning from her work and sitting at the back seat of a bike when a heavy loaded vehicle hit the bike and she fell off .The heavy loaded vehicle ran over her. She was rushed to the Sohna Hospital and the admitted to hospital in Gurgaon. All efforts were in vain. Her life was saved but she had to sacrifice her two legs. Her world fell apart. She had two children to look after. Her husband expired twelve years back due to cardiac arrest. For the last 12 years she has been working hard to support her children and herself. Her daughter who is sixteen years old now is studying in a college in Sohna. After the fatal accident she was totally broken down. Her world tore apart .But she was a strong woman with a strong heart. She is a positive person and a fighter. She is a person not to give up.
